Korean BBQ puts the grill on the customer's table, so smoke and grease are produced in the dining room. The extraction design is different from a normal kitchen: it has to capture the smoke at each table.
We fabricate canopies and extraction for table grills and for the back-of-house kitchen.
Table Grills Need a Different Approach
Table grills are a specialist design. We review the layout, grill type and building with your designer before we fabricate.

- Stainless steel hoods and ducting above and below the tables
- Back-of-house canopies for fryers, ranges and stockpots
- Fan sizing for the number of grills in use
- Easy-clean surfaces around the tables
How We Build It
KS Steel Engineering has been operating for 13 years from Epping. You send us the layout or equipment list and a few site photos; we confirm measurements, scope the canopy, ducting and fan, and quote. The canopy is fabricated in our Epping workshop, then our team delivers and installs it and connects the ductwork and fan.
Because we make the canopy ourselves, changes to size, filter layout or duct connection points are handled at the fabrication stage rather than on site.
Standards, and Where We Install
Commercial kitchen ventilation in Australia is governed by AS 1668.2, and other requirements cover the fire performance of surrounding construction. What applies depends on the building, the cooking equipment and your local authority. We fabricate to the design and approvals for your project.
Our workshop is at Unit 1/22 Salicki Ave, Epping. We install across Melbourne, including the northern suburbs of Lalor, Thomastown, Mill Park, Bundoora, South Morang, Whittlesea, Reservoir, Preston, Campbellfield, Broadmeadows and Craigieburn, plus Altona, Dandenong, Clyde and Geelong. We have also completed projects in regional Victoria (Ballarat, Bendigo, Shepparton, Mildura, Wodonga, Seymour, Moe and Drouin) and in Canberra.
